about

Tami Bone spent her growing up years in deep South Texas and along the Texas Gulf Coast. Today she lives in Austin, close to the rugged Texas Hill Country. She attended The University of Texas, although her interest in photography began later. For much of her adult life, she has pieced together an ongoing photographic education, including formal classes, workshops and continuous self-education. Her past photographic experience is in portraiture, where she specialized in photographing children using black and white film, and natural light.

Tami is currently seeking gallery representation. Her work has been shown nationally in juried group exhibitions and invitational group exhibitions, and in 2012 will be shown in three solo exhibitions. She has received numerous awards including selection as 2011 Photolucida Critical Mass Finalist, Photo Review 2010 Competition Winner, 2009 Photolucida Critical Mass Finalist and 2008 Review Santa Fe Participant.

Tami engages photography as a means of storytelling and personal expression. Her most recent and ongoing body of work, Mythos, is born of the awareness that the stories we tell ourselves and others form our personal truths and unique folklore.
